I am a fifth-year architecture student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

I began my architectural studies in Belgium at the Free University of Brussels before transferring to Cluj-Napoca.

My journey in architecture sparked my interest in many art forms, such as photography. I love noticing details or frames around me that evoke certain emotions, which I can later share with others.

SCHOOL

This project is located in Florești, a village near Cluj-Napoca.

The program is for a school serving pupils from first to eighth grade.

The site is surrounded by four housing blocks to the southeast, which make the area feel rigid, and by the Someș River to the northwest, which gives the area a more fluid quality.

I divided the educational spaces based on these two contrasting areas: a rigid one with all the traditional classrooms, and a fluid one with workshop spaces, a music classroom, and playful areas connected to nature and the schoolyard.

Public functions, such as the library and the gymnasium, are located near the roads for easy access, especially when used outside of school hours.

The project was completed in the first semester of the fourth year.

CLASSROOM

The interior design of a classroom in the Faculty of Installation Engineering of Cluj-Napoca.

The requirement for the project was to transform a basic classroom into a functional work and educational space for the students of the Faculty of Installation Engineering.

I decided to use the longest wall for a “workshop space.” The right side of the wall features a panel with lighting installations, the left side is used for educational books and a lecture area, and at the bottom of the wall are storage boxes.

The project was created for the interior design class in the fourth year.

HOUSING

This project is located in Mărăști, a neighborhood in Cluj-Napoca.

The program is for cooperative housing.

The cooperative focuses on gardening. We based the housing on gardening due to the history of Mărăști. Before communism, the neighborhood was an important agricultural hub for Cluj-Napoca, and the Hoștăzeni community in Mărăști supplied the entire city with their harvest.

During the analysis phase, we observed that the love for gardening remained strong, even though the Hoștăzeni community had been relocated from their homes to apartment buildings. In the green areas between the buildings, residents often decorate and plant flowers.

We wanted to preserve this interest in gardening within the cooperative housing.

The project was completed in the second semester of the third year, in collaboration with my colleague Anda Resteu.

HOLIDAY HOME

The project is located in Rhode-Saint-Genèse, a town near Brussels.

The program is a holiday home for a family of artists who travel frequently.

I decided to isolate the house from the exterior and create an interior garden inspired by Piet Oudolf’s gardens, aiming to design an intimate home in a green environment.

The house is divided into two areas: a private and a common area. The private area consists of four bedrooms—two for the children, one for the parents, and one guest room with a separate entry. The common area includes a playroom, which also serves to separate the children's rooms from the parent's room, an entryway that divides the service area from the living room and kitchen, and a workspace for the artists.

The project was completed in the second year.

MUSEUM

The project is located in the center of Cluj.

The program is for a museum of modern and contemporary art.

We wanted the museum to be part of a green promenade that connects a main road to the central park of Cluj. The museum is like an object in this promenade, inviting people to visit. It is connected to a secondary road where the unloading of merchandise takes place. The museum is divided into two volumes: the administrative one, connected to the secondary road, and the main one, which houses the museum's exhibition spaces. The visitor's route is spirally, starting with the stairs, then leading to a corridor that faces the park, and finally arriving at the exhibition area.

The project was completed in the first semester of the fifth year, in collaboration with my colleague, Camelia Țeposu.
